IDC Names BridgeHead’s HealthStore(TM) As A Leader In The AICA / VNA Market

(businesspress24) - ASHTEAD, UK & WOBURN, MA - 30 May 2018 - BridgeHead Software today announced it has been named a ''Leader'' for its HealthStore(TM) solution in the recent IDC MarketScape: Worldwide AICA and VNA for Value-Based Healthcare (VBHC) 2018 Vendors Assessment (IDC #EMEA43665518).

Published in March 2018, and authored by healthcare industry analysts Silvia Piai and Mutaz Shegewi, the IDC MarketScape explores the changing landscape of healthcare and why application independent clinical archive (AICA) solutions and, in part their predecessor, the vendor neutral archive (VNA), are pivotal to a provider''s underlying patient information strategy. IDC then assessed the vendors in the space, concluding BridgeHead Software was one of the four vendors to receive the Leader recognition (in the top right-hand side of the quadrant).

Why IDC believes AICA / VNA Solutions are important for value-based healthcare?

In the MarketScape, IDC examines the changes in healthcare provision and reimbursement as a result of the introduction of value-based healthcare (VBHC). To meet market demands, IDC states that providers will, among other things, need to closely monitor efficiency of the workforce, processes, and assets in order to assess their performance in terms of clinical outcomes, patient experience, and economic viability. In order to achieve this, IDC suggests that healthcare organizations will need to "revise their patient information management strategy and focus their IT investments on achieving superior data availability, while providing for security and privacy protection and ensuring efficiency of the underlying infrastructure". IDC considers AICA and, to a point VNA solutions, an essential part of the technology layer. This is especially the case given healthcare providers are no longer solely concerned with medical image management and the growth of unstructured content from different departments, patients, and care delivery partners. Today, healthcare organizations expect sustainable, end-to-end solutions that "offer a combination of traditional ''passive'' archives and real-time access capabilities to support new patient information sharing, viewing, workflow, and analytics needs".
